Fingering for second octave D

Post by R Small »

I have been playing second octave D with the first hole open (OXXXXX) but now I'm starting to experiment with leaving it closed (XXXXXX) in certain situations to grease the action. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? My fingering chart shows the closed fingering as an alternative to OXXXXX so I assume it's considered "correct" in at least some situations.

There was a recent discussion on this very topic. Check viewtopic.php?f=1&t=72003 for the results of that conversation...

Best wishes.

Thanks. Interesting thread. Pretty much confirms what I've been thinking.
