1) Olwell fully keyed "Pratten model" D flute in blackwood, with tuning slide and unlined headjoint.
2) Olwell unkeyed flute with Eb, D and C interchangable bodies, in blackwood, with tuning slide and lined headjoint.
3) Martin Doyle all-wood D flute, without tuning slide, in blackwood
4) Michael Grinter "Acanthus-Leaf Model" fully keyed D flute in blackwood (the works).

For the last year I've been playing the keyed Olwell almost exclusively, though the other flutes are also superb. I'm a lucky guy!

As for whistles, I travel with a set of Burke aluminum whistle in Eb, D, C, Bb, B and A. Eb is my favorite. I also travel with a low F Goldie/Overton, which is superb. When I am home in the USA and not travelling I enjoy playing my set of Sindt whistles, my favorites of which are the Eb and C.

Again, I am a very lucky guy.

A D-and-a-half set, let's see, does that make it D-sharp or E-flat, I wonder?

What's that, a 7-key with one leaky pad?

 Doesn't that depend on which way you're approaching the scale? Some days it is a "D and a 1/2" set, though over the last few days it's been more of a C and 3/4 set (probably more Db than Csharp), alas.

(but if "D" stands for operator "DUH" it's D to the nth degree!)

As for the flute, the .5 key really is a half a key right now -- it's Josh's old 7-key flute, but it's presently at Chez Olwell awaiting a new arm and touch for the C# key (hey, when I first got the flute it had two heads, too! :o ).
