Lesley was allowed up in a chair for a short while yesterday and survived the experience, although she was still complaining of starvation! She will be allowed to eat properly today, to her relief. She is doing well, although still so frail. Thank you all for your kindness.

If I only had the ability to make a Burger King Whopper Combo (no cheese, Whopper cut in half please) appear in front of Lesley.

She is eating and enjoying it! We hope that she will now get stronger quickly, for she is still very frail. However, she has walked to the loo, to her delight, and been allowed a shower today, with help, so she is happy. Her consultant is pleased with her progress.
Thank you all. She loves your messages and will reply herself soon. As usual, she is shy!

I couldn't come up with a song particularly about walking to the loo, but here are some suggestions for Lesley's iPod:

Walking to New Orleans- Fats Domino
These Boots are Made for Walking- Nancy Sinatra
Walk Like an Egyptian- Bangles
Fire Walk with Me- (the Twin Peaks theme)
I Walk the Line- Johnny Cash
Walk of Life- Dire Straits
Walk This Way- Aerosmith
Walk, Don't Run- the Ventures
The Walker- Duane Eddy
Just Walking in the Rain- Johnny Ray

I'm sure there are more and that other listers can suggest additional entries. I am aware of The Way We Walk but can't in good conscience recommend that anyone listen to Genesis. :P Also, as an Arsenal supporter You'll Never Walk Alone is also off the list.

I've been mostly away from Chiff and Fipple and whistling for a while. Just dealing with the combination of a couple near fatal cardiac issues about a year apart (all resolving well now), and different priorities. In that time I hadn't seen this thread. I finally took a peek at it since it keeps bumping to the top.

Having dodged a couple of bullets myself, and since I help out a quadriplegic brother (with a great attitude) in the evenings, I have a great deal of empathy for your challenges - both Ro and Lesley. I have a huge amount of respect for Lesley's strength and fight. And knowing what it takes to be there to lend a hand, or what have you, for someone that can't do everything for themselves - I have a great deal of respect for Ro as well.

The support, encouragement, and nuttiness that the people in this C&F community have given over the last many months is very heartwarming. What a wonderful bunch you all are. :)

Ro and Lesley, from the bottom of my heart - you have my very best wishes. For every step Lesley takes, and every "leg-up" Ro provides - best wishes for your continued recovery.
Daniel

It's my opinion - highly regarded (and sometimes not) by me. Peace y'all.

One of the nice things about cardio problems and c&f is that we're probably doing our breathing exercises. I just passed my recent stress test, MRI, & cartoid artery ultrasound. Now get back home Lesley. And Ro.

Today I was allowed to wheel Lesley outside for a short breath of air, to her delight. I took a whistle for her, so she was happy! She has been whistle-deprived in her room. She was shattered very quickly and has slept a lot since, but all being well, touch wood and everything else, we may go home at the end of the week. Then she can really get well again.

We have both been very touched by your kind messages. Lesley promises to write herself soon and is far more articulate than i am, although more shy, at present. She too wants to thank you. We are both so grateful.

Best,
Ro
