The end of an era, in more ways than one.

Yeah, time to turn off the radio and tv and be spared the overly-generous tributes and crocodile tears. Whoops, this might be Procto.

I read the first four-word post and decided not to waste my words of praise for Ted Kennedy.

Like him or not, I wouldn't wish the agent of his demise on anyone. Rest in peace, Ted.

My first post on this topic was a little cryptic, and the the intended meaning may have been misunderstood. What I was trying to say is that I admire the life work of Ted Kennedy, but I don't need to discuss it further on this forum.

His seat in the Senate is up for grabs . . . I predict bad behavior and general meanness.

What, are you a fly fisherman?

I was never crazy about Ted Kennedy, but I mourn his passing; he was truly a great person. I mourn for him even moreso because he died of something that scares the sh!t out of me (I still mourn for Bob Marley).

I guess this makes Arnold Schwarzenegger the senior office-holder of the Kennedy dynasty. Who knew?

I was sitting in the waiting room of the hospital (being tested for flu--don't have it) when the special bulletin came on.

I don't know if it's the end of an era. I think, in some sense, we're very much in the Ted Kennedy era. He's played an important part in shaping both parties, defining much of the direction of the Democrats, and likewise leading to a major realignment of the Republican Party, and the loss of the Solid South.
