Just wondering what sort of compliments on their playing people have gotten that leaves one scratching one's head or saying "Thank you...I think".
A fellow happened upon me playing my hexagonal musical pig, introduced himself as a recent music Ph.D., and asked me how long I've been playing. I told him just over 2 years. He thinks and says, "yeah, that sounds like about 2 years worth of practice."
Well, ... good! I'm always kicking myself for not practicing more, I'm glad I'm on schedule.

- Tell us something.: Just updating my profile after 16+ years of C&F membership. Sold most of my flutes, play the ones I still own and occasionally still enjoy coming here and read about flute related subjects.

You're in luck there Larry. Finally you can meet their request with the virtuosity that caused the request in the first placeOn 2003-01-24 06:42, madguy wrote:
I have similar experiences with people asking me if I could play "Far Away"...

As found on JC's Tunefinder:

Cheerio,

Edited because picture wouldn't show. Inserted link instead. Do a search for 'Far Away' and a bunch of tunes show up.

Claudine thanks for the Lucky Luke reminder. It's been years, but I used to love them. You gotta love the Dalton Brothers.
Pixy, I wouldn't worried about being asked to play "Somewhere Else". Everybody gets asked to play weird tones they've never heard before. Even my session buddies will ask me two or three times a night to play this odd tune called "Still To Loud We Can Still Hear You". Those Irish tune names just take some getting used to, is all.
