Catch phrases
Catch phrases
I just used Groucho Marx catch phrase
"and I mean that most sincerely folks"
I love those films, which won't surprise you I expect.
Any more catch phrases please.

Re: Catch phrases
Captain Kirk never uttered his catch phrase "Beam me up, Scotty," in the original series. Not in so many words, anyway.

Re: Catch phrases
Here in the UK, I thought that "And I mean that most sincerely, Folks!" was Hughie Greene.
ITMA was a fertile source:
"Can I do you now, sir?"
"I go - I come back!"
And the Goons:
"He's fallen in the water!"
"April in Paris - now we've found a Charlie!"
Guess who I was watching the other day:
"here's another fine mess you've gotten me into!"
and
"Why don't you come up and see me, big boy?"
Remember Rowan and Martin's Laugh-in?
"Sock it to me"
"Verrrry interesting - but schtupid!"
"Say Goodnight, Dick!"
...that show did have jokes sometimes, and not JUST catch-phrases, didn't it?

- Tell us something.: "Tell us something" hits me a bit like someone asking me to tell a joke. I can always think of a hundred of them until someone asks me for one. You know how it is. Right now, I can't think of "something" to tell you. But I have to use at least 100 characters to inform you of that.
