Record temp of 33.8 Celsius (err, 92ish fahrenheit) here in Vancouver today, & as humid as living in Ron Jeremy's armpit.

The cat is NOT impressed.
And now there was no doubt that the trees were really moving - moving in and out through one another as if in a complicated country dance. ('And I suppose,' thought Lucy, 'when trees dance, it must be a very, very country dance indeed.')

Everyone knows that translations are best done out of the foreign language into one's native language. So I'm not sure you're qualified for Denny-to-English. I'd insist on seeing samples first.

Was 82F max down here today, with a light sea breeze. 63F now at 10 PM.

I mostly snigger, because I was wondering where
our heat had gone. It's been a lovely summer here,
unusually cool (for certain values of "cool").

SeaTac Airport (where the official weather readings are taken for the Seattle area) hit a new all-time record high yesterday: 103 F. (Old record was 100 F.) It was 105 F outside my house, and nearly that inside. Supposed to be a few degrees cooler today, but still a scorcher.

Yesterday, some yahoo threw a lit cigarette out of his/her car along I-5 and set off a brush fire. Plus, big thunderstorms have been building over the Cascade mountains every day, and lightning has set off several wildfires. We're havin' fun, you betcha!

Just heard about this last evening as the unseasonably cooling breeze caressed my mug of beer.

Seriously, I was astounded at the news, and the first thing I thought of was the humidity you coastside Washingtonians would have to be enduring along with the heat. Not a pleasant combination at all. Normally the temps and humidity in my locale should be approaching what youse guys are now putting up with, but they're not. Everything's gone topsy-turvy.

I saw Seattle is having it's air show this weekend.

We just had the Dayton Air Show week before last. I've been to this thing when it was 100+ degrees and the National Guard was bringing the "camels" and setting up spray stations just so people didn't pass out.

This year it was overcast and less than 80 degrees.

What's it going to be out there this weekend?

This is so weird......

Blessedly cool at my house this morning. Aahhhhh...

I cooled off yesterday afternoon by heading into the mountains, hiking up to a snow-melt-fed alpine lake, and going for a swim. And I only donated about half of my blood to the mosquitoes and biting flies. <scratch, scratch, scratch>
