Irish Music Illustrations

Post by mukade »

I have been meaning to post this site for a while.
It is owned by a Japanese illustrator called Atsushi Yamamoto who produces a lot of artwork themed around Irish Trad.
The site is partly in Japanese, but click around and you can see most of the artwork.

Ah, so he did the famous Custy's Music illustration. Very nice, thanks for the link! If Ashi is in Osaka, I'll have to ask my friend Peter Damashek about him.

I heard back from my buddy Peter, who says yes, he knows Ashi well and they've played together. Says he's a great trad backup guitarist, and his wife Harumi is a fine concertina player. ITM and real graphic art talent, very impressive!

I find them a bit twee.
And now there was no doubt that the trees were really moving - moving in and out through one another as if in a complicated country dance. ('And I suppose,' thought Lucy, 'when trees dance, it must be a very, very country dance indeed.')
