Tell us something.: You just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You don't need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free

Hey Loren,

It's a photo of the flute Josh used to own. It's a keyless boxwood Olwell. I know Josh sold it, so I'm not sure where it ended up. Could be more than a coincidence.

Brendan
Thanks Brendan.

I wonder if that is the one Cat bought and won't sell me?

Well, looks just like my Dogwood Olwell in that photo. And my eyes aren't so sharp any more....

Not sure if this has been posted already:

The video is actually of a Sean Nos step dancer, but the flute playing is very nice (as is the dancing). No idea who the flute player is.

yeah you can hear elements of harry's style there. could it be him? i wonder who it is....
here's an interesting comparison: note the 2 links below, side by side, same tunes (boys of the hilltop and sack of spuds) by 2 different players, some great old school playing:

patsy hanly and that same unknown player from the above post.

Ha! And I just finished writing how that playing reminded me of Hanley's. Should've read the rest of the thread first

yeah the first thing i did was think of patsy's playing and so i did a double check on it. but aren't there spendid differences? our unknown player seems to have got harry's umph woven into it. top notch solo players to me. i think i am going to start playing that set, hope i can capture 1/10 of the lift/drive they've got.

you might want to compare them with harry bradley: http://www.box.net/shared/j4mmthjdq5
he plays the first tune (boys of the hilltop) at the end of the set
