More like EspañaTrad, actually. The program is from Valencia, Spain, and the announcing is in Catalán.

I'll take that pint now. :P

That actually wasn't half bad. Tune is easily recognizable in any language. I just wonder why the lead singer was moving like that. Never did get to see his face, just the blur.

Reminds me of my friend who likes to sing
a version called "Taquilla in the Jar", which
is lousy with Cheech and Chong references.

Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

Yeah, he was pretty irritating. It was starting to look like a nervous tic of grand proportions.

Nine bandmembers to do "musica Celta"?? That's a lot of mouths to feed. Couldn't even tell if they were all playing. They mill around nice, though.

I mean, well, yeah. Everyone oughta know that. "MexiTrad". Sheesh.

I know very little, if anything, about Texmex music...

Dublin, one night..Ry Cooder and his band..Flaco was there.

A good buddy of mine, who was , and probably still is, a fine box player looked at me and said..

W.T..F...

I had no reply ..apart from..WOW...

Oh yeah..Flaco...Mmmmm

Here's some double handed squeeze-box, although this is a poor recording of an otherwise famous tune, but hey, that's YouTube.

Nice...

Flaco and his mob seem to swing a bit more though...

No disrespect to anybody involved..

Just seems a wee bit ..well.. flash without the pash...

Great recording!

As an American I grew up in a rural, and predominantly Eastern European neighborhood, where some really fine squeeze-box playing could occur, anytime.

Oh, there were fiddle, flute, and clarinet players, too, but man, I only wish that I had recorded what I've heard done on a squeeze-box!

BTW, it was a wonderful place to have been, and a wonderful neighborhood.

I'm a big fan of Ry Cooder, but not of "Tex-Mex"

but that last tune Mr. D was splendid!
(it almost made me have to get up and dance... would have if it wasn't so late and me so tired)

Whew! That's a relief. I speak Spanish with great fluency and was only catching about 70% of what that guy was saying...thought I was losing my marbles.

My favorite version of Ghost Riders in the Sky is by a weirdo texan cowpunk named Ned Sublett (no idea if it's a nom-de-punk or his real name), and comes with a mariachi horn-break that sounds so right that it ought to be mandatory, like the organ part in Whiter Shade of Pale, or the bass part in These Boots are made for Walking.
And now there was no doubt that the trees were really moving - moving in and out through one another as if in a complicated country dance. ('And I suppose,' thought Lucy, 'when trees dance, it must be a very, very country dance indeed.')
