Sometimes I've stared at the screen, too, not knowing where to begin.

And, it's easy to understand your frustration. You've been through a lot, including many disappointments, most understandable.

However, don't forget to keep everybody here up to date!

Remember, Berti, you are not alone.

That's a recogniseable feeling, Berti. Nothing to say, and you feel there is no point in saying it. "Depression" seems like a perfectly reasonable response under the circumstances. We are concerned. We are rooting for you. When you feel like updating us, we will be here.

Fourth of May, eh? Don't forget to say "May the Fourth be with you" at your appointment.

Tell us something.: From the land beyond beyond. From the time past hope and fear. I bid you, Genie, now appear! Well, the Genie did not appear but the notification to type at least 100 characters did so I am back and typing some more as you, if anyone actually sees this, can probably tell.

that's so sweet, thank you :) :)
just trying to cope with things and I would love to "talk" to more people more often........
around here, it's just once a week and it's not enough right now. I think you all will understand.

the postiive thing is that no day is the same, there are good days and bad days.
luckily they aren't ALL bad........

I have noticed that I STILL keep hoping/ believing in things no matter what.
Sometimes I think I *really* am a nutcase........ ;)

the big disadvantage of having to "talk" over the internet is that there are no *live* hugs included.
hope someday someone will solve that problem......

Wrap left arm across chest, grab right shoulder. Wrap right arm over left arm, grab left shoulder. Squeeze. Repeat as needed. (There is no overdose level.)

There, now you've just completed a cyber-hug sent from me, and I'm sure a couple of dozen other folks, if not more.

:)

I'd be flippin' depressed going through what you have, too. But there is light, and it's not just in the tunnel any more. It's just that the gears of the whole operation are turning so slowly. But they are turning. You'll make more progress. You'll get through this, Berti. And we will be right here, by your cyber-side.

another new day...........it's going to be a quiet one, luckily.
weekend grocery shopping is done and no chores that need doing......
all the time to...........erm...

enjoy the "whiskers on kitten" of our little Cara, turkish angora five months old.......and, isn't the name well chosen (by my german chiff friend).
she is quite a handfull (the kitten, not the friend), so completely different than our maine coons were (we still have our 8 year old charlie), like having a toddler around!
NO, don't............KEEP OFF..........taking things away she is chewing on which are potentially dangerous and her favorite, and running around when she is getting into misschief again. *sigh*
we are quite happy that she still likes to take naps!

I mean, there's always positive things to be found when you go LOOK for them.
also, that last week the speech comprehension DID improve despite the IDR (input dynamic range) driving me NUTS and make me to turn the volume down.....so things come in rather softly but yes the improvement is there.
now if I could say the same for music. I so much *want to believe* this is improving too.
maybe even more than speech, but okay......

BREAKFAST TIME!!!!
Let's see if I can hop in on the live chat.
have a nice weekend everyone

Cyber hugs from us too!

I wish we could share some of our pleasure with you, Berti, but you are finding your own, and will find more yet. This is only the beginning!

last week I emailed the hospital asking for an appointment to see the doctor.
this morning I got an reply: well we don't have you in our files and you better go back to your original (amsterdam) hospital.
this was a shock as my current new audi had told me they HAD my files and HAD agreed to take me in "aftercare"..............

because I have hit my head a month ago and have developed physical problems because of that weeks after that which I think affect my hearing, because it was hit CLOSE to my implant.....I would like to have it checked out before I return to my audi next monday.
what was I to do now I officially am NOT registered in that hospital.

I put on my brave shoes again and went looking for a social worker and explained the situation and he called the hospital.
He told them the story and again, was told that I am not one of their patients......but THEN they said I should just go to my audi next monday and after that would get an appointment in the hospital.

Ok then, I thought, if there is no other way.
But later this afternoon I got an email, that she had discussed this with collegues and they want to see me in, THIS WEDNESDAY MORNING to have things checked out and hopefully close out the implant causing those problems/ being defect.

whew.

As IB said, thank goodness for the social worker!

I wasn't aware that you had hit your head, near your CI.

I hope all goes well, this Wednesday.

BTW, Berti, don't feel badly about having an accident. It can happen to anybody.

Recently I was working in my back yard, when my hand slipped, and the backside of it hit a very solid object.

Nothing got cut, torn, or broken, but my L2 and L3 fingers now refuse to work normally.

It's not just that I can't play flute, but I'm even having trouble sending this message, on the keyboard.
