I didn't have to dig, he does play a set of three hornpipes on tin whistle on one of his albums,(I can't remember which one) The Belfast hornpipe, The boys of Bluehill and Harvest home as I recall. Plays the tunes really well too, as I would expect, seeing that tin whistle and 'Orange flute' where what he played as a young boy.James Galway? Oh, yeah, he's Irish, and he plays a flute, too! Yet, at the height of his flute playing career he was employed by the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, and although he has a wealth of flute recordings to his credit, you'll need to do some digging to find him playing any ITM.
Well, he indeed does play ITM, but for the most part it seems that he's kept his ITM activities in the background, not so public as of late.Ceili_whistle_man wrote:I didn't have to dig, he does play a set of three hornpipes on tin whistle on one of his albums,(I can't remember which one) The Belfast hornpipe, The boys of Bluehill and Harvest home as I recall.
