That's one of the expensive ceramic ones. You can pick up a perfectly adequate plastic yoke for a couple of quid ($2 these days).

Mr Izz uses one frequently, and swears by it. I have never tried it myself....

A friend recommended it's use when he had a humdinger of a sinus infection. The antibiotics relieved it for a time, but his sinuses were so clogged, nothing would move for it to finally drain. Because of this, the neti pot was difficult to use at first....it wouldn't drain into the sinus cavity and he would find himself with a mouthful of saline. One time, it even started to come out of his tear duct apparently. But he kept at it and it finally got everything moving around and the sinusitis finally subsided. He now uses it as a preventative about once or twice a week.

I can't believe someone put videos on the Youtube for that. Talk about gross!!! :P

Amazing isn't the word. Revolting would be my adjective of choice here. I mean...WHY? people are so weird :P

A friend of mine calls the Neti Pot a "nasal enema".

let's just hope that namesake isn't represented on YouTube as well, or I will have to agree with you, Izzarina of Limbo!

Everyone's different. I don't see why it's revolting. Blowing your nose for ten minutes every morning - THAT's revolting. Something that lets you not do that - it's worth telling people about.

No, it's not the use of the Neti Pot...it's that people would video themselves doing it. I guess I just don't see the point, and I find it kind of gross.

I was struck by the particularly vacant expression on her face as she poured water through her head and it drained out the other side. Just my sense of humour, I guess.

I had my first sinus problems following my first experiences with salt water (Atlantic). I have never been free of them since.
