Depends on my mood. A whimsical farfalle much of the time, with occasional forays into the delicate complexity of capellini di angeli.

I voted for spaghetti but what I'm really thinking of is a bird's nest looking thing, kind of like angel hair spaghetti all rolled and knotted up. Maybe there's an actual name for it. It's great with chili on top.

I would be penne pasta. It's versatile, it's reliable, it's not typecast. It doesn't have the geeky qualities of macaroni and is still a good deal economically. Massive quantities can be eaten equally efficiently on spoon or fork.

I would most definitely be Campanelle. Very pretty and delicate looking, but sturdy enough to take on any sauciness you can bring on

I'd love to animate that lumiconi. What great faces it would make!

There are some tree spirits in Miyazaki's Princess Mononoke who look an awful lot like that.djm wrote:I'd love to animate that lumiconi. What great faces it would make!

Personally, I'd like to be angel hair.

Re: If you had to be a pasta....
Maybe this topic just didn't lend itself well to a poll ChasR or maybe just having one option was what did this thread in. Then again, it could have been your options. I was fine choosing Penne but I really wanted to say something about Lasagna. Not a choice btw. There is something magical about that gigantic Lasagna with every ingredient imaginable to bring a family together on a Sunday and the close friends together on a Monday for leftovers. And I want to be the large buffet platter of extra large seashell stuffed with pepperoni and ricotti. That is wedding food.
Maybe it's not the pasta at all. Maybe the pasta is just the catalyst. So close.
