But lots of rainforests have both rainy & dry seasons. Our rainy season runs from September to June.

We're also the only forest region in the world in which evergreens form the climax forest. Everywhere else, the greater photosynthesis efficiency of broadleaf trees means they come out on top, but here the mild, wet, winters--when evergreens can grow while deciduous trees are dormant--provide enough extra growth to offset the disadvantage that needles have vs leaves.
