Afraid of Heights?

Post by dubhlinn »

If so turn this video off when it hits the two minute mark....

Seriously scary..

Slan,
D. :boggle: :boggle:
And many a poor man that has roved,
Loved and thought himself beloved,
From a glad kindness cannot take his eyes.

37 seconds raised my gorge, and I shut it off after 1 minute and 6 seconds. But I am a wimp.

They named their kid "Yoyo"? Seriously?

Right.
Not so scary to watch, since I figured it would go ok.

Jeff says: "That would be great!"
I reply: "That would not be great."

I could probably ride the thing up and back down provided I had every appendage wrapped securely around
the orange cross-bars, but I would not budge until the ground was within 10 feet.

btw...the vid incorrectly labels the exercise performed as push-ups. 'Tisn't. They're pull-ups. All 3 of my girls had the distinction, at
roughly age 10, of besting their entire classes--boys included--by doing about 11 or so of those, but not over the city of Paris.
Adolescence with its shifting center of gravity stole the gift.
p.s. They did not acquire the musculature from me. I am now officially at the bottom of the family arm-wrestling heap.

That was excellent! I think I would have been at least in on something like that in my younger years (like shooting the film, not doing the pull ups, snort!)...I wouldn't be caught dead way up there now.

The vision of your family in an arm-wrestling heap will pleasantly haunt me over the holiday period.

I like heights but I think the first guy was loony. To attempt such a stunt without a good belt...well, I wouldn't put my guys in such jeopardy.

I've been having dreams of being frightened by high places. In one of my dreams I am walking along a trail on the side of a cliff. The trail gets narrower until I am not able to continue, fearing that I might fall. I try not to watch videos that merely exacerbate my fears. However, there was some interesting flute playing in the first segment, if you were listening to the music.

I wonder how many times similar videos are created without such a fun ending that never get published or mentioned and their families wonder what happened.

One of my family's current sayings is:
What is the stupidest thing on the planet? A teenage boy.
What is even more stupid? A teenage girl in love with a teenage boy.
Rose tint my world. Keep me safe from my trouble and pain.

Just teenaged? Yeah right! At least until age 25.

It was incredibly stupid of him to do it. I fully agree. And it's not a video that I'll be showing to my boys, that's for sure ;) Unfortunately, I wasn't always the wisest person in my younger years...

Um, yeah. I resembled that one way back when too....then I done married the guy

Yup, that video makes me queasy, but I can handle it much better than watching the video made by someone crossing the El Caminito del Rey.

I've seen that walk before. It reminds me so much of the Myst games.

Wow! That sums it up. I get a thrill just watching "The Polar Express" where the train passes the "Caution 179∘Grade Ahead" sign-then plunges.
