Ro and Lesley, I'm so glad to hear good news again! I must say, though, that you've made me confused about my own health: I THINK I just have a lingering common cold that makes me blow my nose all the time, but maybe I'm just going through all these tissues because I keep reading this thread obsessively.
Pursuing a lawsuit sounds like a good idea. Best of luck with it.

I know - and I may yet have my arm twisted by Lesley and change my mind! However, for my own sanity I probably need to do something. Seeing her yet again sobbing in agony is something I cannot forget.
However - she is fine now, and COMING OUT TOMORROW
She has been kept tonight just to be absolutely sure she is OK, then tomorrow she has the short trip round to the side of the hospital where our flat is!! And this time, I am keeping her there! At least until we go home properly. We have to stay until she has this next set of stitches out (my poor patchwork wife) and then the surgeons here think that, heart-wise, Lesley is fit enough to go home. Real home! This is just wonderful. Not just that we can go, but that she is actually well enough!
We will still have to go to our own hospital once a week for checkups, and come back here once a month to start with, but we will be home! It will be a long time before Lesley really gets back to normal, but with decent physio (we hope) and with time she will get there. I would like to dance and shout, tonight! Would probably get arrested, but it might even be worth it. She really is getting properly better.
I suppose the shares in Puffs will go down now - sorry Missy! And HDSarah might at last get over her cold!
Tomorrow we will have a BIG party (knowing Lesley when she comes home it will be a slumber party!). I can't wait.

You cannot do it with expectations of full success and certainly not for any monetary recompense, but from the standpoint of illustrating and illuminating the very real danger to caregivers and patients alike, it is absolutely warranted.Cork wrote:Let me be blunt, here, please, but perhaps a legal pursuit could amount to but little.
I do wish you the best of luck and success with such a thing.
However, expect little, and you might not be disappointed, frankly.

In this instance, perhaps legal action could go roughly nowhere.anniemcu wrote:You cannot do it with expectations of full success and certainly not for any monetary recompense, but from the standpoint of illustrating and illuminating the very real danger to caregivers and patients alike, it is absolutely warranted.Cork wrote:Let me be blunt, here, please, but perhaps a legal pursuit could amount to but little.

The trouble seems to occur in equating justice and morality with legality.
Justice is justice, and then there is the law.
Other than that, I am delighted to hear of Lesley's health improvement.
Wonderful!!!

I would say, regardless of what anyone here advises, you should talk to a legal professional in any case. I don't believe any of us here is in a position to say whether you should or should not pursue a suit. Obviously, you'll need to seek out someone you feel comfortable with that you're sure will give you good, impartial advice on whether or not pursuing a lawsuit is a good idea.
Best wishes,
Jerry

There's Incapacity Benefit, Ro, worth £84 per week, and Lesley should be entitled to other stuff too. I got my old Mum on Attendance Allowance a few weeks ago. Another £46 went down well! Google state benefits and grab what you can. You and Lesley are exactly the people they're designed for.

He jested, quaff'd and swore."
They cut me down and I leapt up high
I am the life that'll never, never die.
I'll live in you if you'll live in me -
I am the lord of the dance, said he!
