Tadhg Crowley drones and regs (Dating from the 1930s/40s). My chanter is an early fully-keyed Cillian O Briain made in the late 1980s.

I picked up a set of drones from Bruce Childress at the North East tionol last week. While the photographs are not too sharp the craftsmanship is excellent. The reeds give a strong tone and are rock steady, I'm pleased as punch. Bruce was happy to accomadate my requests for this and that and he delivered when promised. My teacher tried them out and as a former pipemaker he liked them immensely. Kudos to you Bruce.

Michael Hubbert is still working on my new B set, but he let me have the parts that are done at the SoCal tionol. He's currently finishing up some details on the chanter and then 2 regulators will follow in the hopefully not-too-distant future. The set is made of acid-stained boxwood. The decorative turning on the bass drone resonator and bellow inlet are really distinctive and beautiful. I don't think I've ever seen anything like it before.

Nice pyrography too.

Is that 'red brass' ? i.e. 80/20?

I sent email for a photo's of pipes and got the above photo from Andreas today.

Just have to arrange courier shipping and send final payment.

Hi Jeff,

That's quite a collection you've got yourself. The Brennan set looks great. Who restored it?

Nick Whitmer did the restoration work on the Brennan. Nick did beautiful work on the set and I didn't imagine they would come out so well. I'm very impressed with his craftsmanship and knowledge. The drones are going well and the chanter is playing with a nice easy reed. Thus far, the regs have resisted any attempts at reeding, but I'm far from ready to give up.

Interesting. I knew Nick had restored another Tayloresque set, one which he plays himself.
