Thank you all! I had the best birthday ever, with the best present in the world - Lesley sharing it with me. And yes, there was cake, and I would have shared it with you all had it been possible. It was very nice!
Lesley is physio-ing at the moment, so I am tidying up the flat (or supposed to be!)

Lesley is very tired tonight so we have played no more duets. She works so hard at her physio, and has to concentrate so hard on her walking and her movement, that she comes home shattered at times. The therapist is very good and won't let her do too much physically, but I think she gets mentally exhausted too. She is still very positive and pleased with her progress, as I am, needless to say.
The doctors hope she will soon start to regain some of her lost weight, which will increase her stamina. The trouble is, she is burning up a lot of energy both physically and mentally, so she is not yet doing so, although she eats fairly well. We have very limited cooking facilities, so are eating most of our main meals in the hospital canteen, which may be why she is not gaining. We need a freezer here, so I could stock it up with ice cream, which she loves! Really, she just needs to go home now. It will come.
She sends her love, as usual, and adds her thanks for all your birthday wishes to me. It will be hers next, something I wasn't expecting to see! We will have a party!!

Oh, such a wonderful afternoon. Lesley had been to physio and I went, as usual, to collect her and bring her home. I had been listening to music before I left and forgotten the time, so left the CD on. We walked in to the flat and Margaret's Waltz was playing. Lesley looked at me, threw her stick onto a chair and put up her arms to dance with me. And we waltzed together.
I cried. She cried.
A fleeting moment, but one that will live for ever for us. I wanted to share it with you.

I wish I could meet you folks. I don't think I've ever been quite so touched by people I've never met face-to-face.
