A day of tests and checkups today, and Lesley has passed with flying colours, although she is very tired now. There is a possibility that we may be able to go home soon, if she continues to make such good progress! I want to make sure that her physio is properly organised before we do, though - she is not going through that fiasco again! Especially as it is so excellent here.
Tomorrow we are back to normal routine: physio and shorter runs of tests etc, so that there will be more whistle time! We have been trying duets, bearing in mind that I am a not very good classical guitarist and play none of Lesley's type of music, so we have been doing a lot of adapting! Fortunately Lesley can play most things, so is able to harmonise with me rather than me having to improvise! She seems to enjoy it, anyway, and it is a totally new experience for me, and one I am enjoying too. It is good to play with her rather than listen - I get a better idea of how very good she is, and that is with fumbly fingers still! I have never really given her any credit for her whistle skills, thinking of it more as a toy - SORRY SORRY SORRY. I DON'T ANY MORE. AAGH! I knew she was good at her other instruments but rather wrote off the whistle. Now I can see the skill and musicianship (?) involved, especially as she improvises to "my" music, rather than playing tunes I don't know.
I had better stop now, before I say something to embarrass her further and stop her posting too! And I need to see what she is up to in case it is something she shouldn't be!
Happy Birthday Ro. Your present from me is a free pass from a knock upside your head for calling a whistle a toy. Some whistles sure do look like toys though. At least you know what a whistle is called.
Have fun you two. Did you get cake?
