Which tune?

Post by chrisp »

Hi all,

Just wondered which tune is the one you'd love to learn next, but haven't got there just yet?
A tune that you've heard and would like to master because it sounds so nice.
It might be a good way for us all to try tunes that are appealing to others but perhaps we haven't heard yet.

Right now i am trying Strawberry blossom, i think this version is played by Tommy, very nice too http://ia311232.us.archive.org/3/items/ ... e_Reel.mp3

I think Tam Lin is a great tune, but it sounds pretty demanding. I'll try it anyway.

Tell us something.: I'm really a fiddler but in Jan. '24 I finally gave a proper effort to learning to play the Tipple flute I've had lying around since '08, and now I can't stop. It's all because I had an epiphany that the flute can be played without having to get out of bed.

I generally like to learn tunes on a whim. More exciting that way, and usually I'm enjoying that particular tune more so then if I just picked some random tune and decided to learn it, or went from a "list of tunes to learn" and picked one.
Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

Great tune, I'm used to calling it "The Boys of Ballinahinch." Here's Fred Finn playing it from the album Music of Sligo.
