Hmmm -- I didn't expect such response, but I'm glad it's an interesting conversation.
One comment I have (to I'm not sure whom) is regarding "soft man hands" being somehow offensive (perhaps too strong a word).
While I am one of those men with softer, gentler hands, I still believe strongly in a firm handshake (though not a death-grip). Well-kept hands do not inherently imply weakness. I hate the limp fish handshake as much as the next guy.

Anyway, hand pic:

Of course they do. That's why I don't even use this stuff that was recommended by some on this list, although I was forced to get another jar as the first must have evaporated. I keep it around to remind me of home.

Not mine. I keep slivers of copper under the nails to kill germs.

My hands are very small (which makes it difficult to get to the 4th finger on the fiddle ;) ), and right now very dried out and will continue to be so as long as winter is here. I have to slather tons of hand lotion on all winter if I want even a bit of comfort from the constant cracking and bleeding.

Shame on YOU PEOPLE. You made me have a nightmare last night. I dreamt I worked at a meat cutting plant. Jeff Bridges, the evil guy from IronMan (I saw that movie last night), was cutting off everyone's hands with the meat slicer. My turn was coming soon. I knew it was him.

Yeah, offensive is too strong a word- I meant that for me, personally, I prefer a man's hands to look/feel masculine and like they do work. I'll put it this way, one of the first things that attracted me to my dh was his rough, calloused working man's hands. That probably doesn't explain it either...

I agree, a wimpy handshake is awful, as is a bone crusher.
Oh and by the way, I would not put your hands into the ewwue catagory.

 This thread just reminded me of the Seinfeld "man hands" episode
