I'm so glad you're celebrating your birthday again! Birthdays are the most important holiday of the year (well...MINE is, but I'll allow others to think theirs are as well ;) )

Happy Birthday, Jack!!! Have a fantastic day!!

Is it seemly for a foreigner to wish an American a Happy Birthday? I'm not sure if I'm supposed to take an interest, since I don't have a vote.

Happy Birthday anyway, as you're so young.

Well, have a nice time...even though it's running out. Finished, kaput, over and out, mee-na-gay, finis, sainara. Almost a quarter of a century.

Quakers DO have birthdays, just like everyone else. They're just not interested in the celebration part.

Happy Birthday, Jack.

I was gonna say...this sounds quite a bit more severe than all the Philly Quakers I know... never heard of this before.

& a Happy Birthday, too  :pint:

And yes, Birthday good wishes to you from me as well Jack! You share a birthday with a very good High School friend of mine who happens to be a professional classical bassoonist.

I, too, am curious: What is the reason Quakers don't celebrate birthdays?
I had a workplace acquaintance years ago who was a Jehovah's Witness, and she adamantly defied the whole birthday/holiday thing. Same reason? Different reason? I specifically recall her always taking a "holiday" on Halloween to avoid the whole "The reason I'm not wearing a costume today ..." thing.

So? What gives?
