Marmite used to be marketed as "The Growing Up Spread".

If you can get children hooked they become lifetime users, so Paddington Bear, a favourite character for decades and not yet Disneyfied, makes a perfect vehicle for carrying the message to impressionable young minds.

Other recent regulations may reduce the "Paddington effect". Cartoon characters are no longer permitted to sell food to young consumers, so Coco Pops and Frosties are searching for a new angle to circimvent the ban. So far puppets have not been culled, but could be next on the list, and Paddington's head may yet grace the mantlepieces of the regulators, alongside Tony the Tiger and the Coco Pops monkey (and all his jungle friends).

Marmite is also now banned in some UK schools, because of the high salt content.

I suspect that part of the hazard of Marmite is amplified by always putting butter on the bread before the cheese. Makes a 1/4 lb. coronary burger from McDonald's almost benign.

That's really a milk bottle in her mouth disguised as a retrieving bumper. All the sheep in my family are black sheep.

I don't think any of it would matter if the kids were allowed to burn off the calories and sweat out the salt, with 20 minutes running around the playground, but these days everyone is so scared of litigation that some schools won't let the children out.
