Lesley is improving slowly but steadily. I am improving quickly! I spent most of the day with her, and when I arrived she took one look at me and said "Sleep! In that chair!" So downtrodden and under her thumb am I that I did - just like that. And am now fit to be a member of the human race again, instead of a zombie. James, Denny, Sarah - you were quite right. I would have been no use to her if ill myself, so that problem is fixed! I have slept.

I have no idea what Lesley did all day, other than listen to me snoring. She is still exhausted and has not yet sat up, let alone attempted any further movement, but she is still so determined. She has made up her mind not to be beaten, not to die, and that inner strength will keep her going. She knows how ill she was - indeed still is - and it is not that she is not realistic. She updated her will before admission, made her plans re her funeral, sold her whistles, etc., knowing that there was not much of a chance for her. But now she is just fighting and fighting. She has prepared for the worst but is not giving in. It is strange to me, who would have given up and died rather than go through what she has gone through. She just loves life so much. And now it looks as if she may win, at long last and against all the odds.

Sorry, I'm rambling again! Time for bed!

Thank you all again, for your love and care and the necessary kick in the pants!

But so glad things are continuing to progress.

I think my good friends here had already done that! She just knocked me down and sat on me (figuratively speaking).

Good news...on both counts.

You are both in our thoughts.

Warm healing thoughts and hopes of a rapid improvement,

I'm glad you are realizing that you need to take care of yourself too.
Exhaustion does neither of you any good.
