It's 17:30 here as I write. That OP was up late last night/small hours this-morning when I got home from a session in Liverpool at about 02:15 and checked internet doings on my mobile phone in bed before crashing out. Does that qualify? Feels like a whole day to me!

Yep. I grew at least three new grey hairs enduring it. Such fortitude!

I must say, I thought it sounded like the player really knew exactly what s/he was doing, mind.

It would make an original ring tone.

Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

That seems a rather loud flute. Is it hard of hearing?

I think Harry's back and taking the piss ;-)

The amazing thing to me is that the American teenage girl's IM vocabulary has spread around the world in different languages. I'm sure even Japanese teenage girls use many of these same expressions in everyday conversation now. My teenage stepdaughter, who barely speaks any English, uses OMG and LOL (she pronounces "LOL" as "lull") when talking with her friends, and lots of kids use IM shorthand in their homework assignments; the teachers have had a hard time getting them to understand that it's not the way things are supposed to be written.

Tell us something.: I play fiddle, concertina, flute. I live in NH. Lived in Kilshanny, Co Clare, for about 20 years. Politically on the far left. Diet on the far right (plant-based fundamentalist). Musically in the middle of the pure drop.

"...it's not the way things are supposed to be written."

But why not? My kids use those expression a lot. I don't use them, but I know what they mean. It's just slang and after a while slang become part of common parlance which then becomes accepted on "higher" levels of discourse.

"Bloody" and "sacre bleu" used both to be terrible curse words. Few people take them that way now. At least not where I live.

I don't really think kelly is really who she claims to be- but as it is she's pretty cute, don't you think? And kelly makes as much sense as most of what I've read so far in my short time on this board. And she's brave enough to post her playing, which I certainly won't do!

You're right. We have a tendency to be hard on newcomers. We all want to see more of Kelly. (Lots more). Time to make nice. Kelly, what else ya got?
