As a Chocolate purist I am almost offended by this question.

Actually, dried fruit is my favorite non chocolate "candy". I used to like "Chic-o-sticks" (these are very similar to the innards of Butterfingers). Have also enjoyed "Necco Wafers". However, given that the chocolate I eat is almost pure cacao mass sometimes, my tolerance for anything made with lots of sugar is about zero. Hurts my teeth!

Least favorite are Gum Drops, especially Spearmint flavored ones. Yuck!!!!

Hot Tamales all the way. Plus, your breath smells nice afterwards.

I prefer the Ferrero Rocher, myself.

No-one has mentioned old-fashioned candies like sponge toffee or candy-canes or saltwater taffy or turkish delight (the real stuff).

I suppose I like most non-chocolate candies, if they don't have peanut butter in them. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate all peanut butter, just not in cooked confections. I like Reese's peanut butter cups, but they have chocolate.

Though Hot Tamale's and Sweetarts and Nerds are all high on my list as sources of massive sugar ingestion, my favorite non-chocolate candys are Necco Wafers. Ummmmm. They're so versatile. You can roll them on your tongue, you can nibble the edges or you can just toss 'em back in the gullet.

Tell us something.: I used to be a regular then I took up the bassoon. Bassoons don't have a lot of chiff. Not really, I have always been a drummer, and my C&F years were when I was a little tired of the drums. Now I'm back playing drums. I mist the C&F years, though.

If peanut brittle is a candy that's my pick. But a good homemade caramel is also awesome

Also, I love these for some reason

Oh ya mon! Peanut brittle. If it's fresh, it's hard to top.

Chocolate and Candy are two entirely seperate things. We keep sugar cubes in our house. Little children go absoltely goo-goo eyed over sugar cubes. And I tell the little children that visit us that I'm allowed to eat as many as I want because I'm a grownup. We keep candy (and chocolate) all over our house in all kinds of containers and hiding places.

I used to have a hollow fish the size of a bed pillow where we kept candy. To get to the candy, you had to stick your hand in the fish's mouth. That fish was so much fun, a kid broke it.
