I, ah, found it somewhat disturbing. Dead horses, dead birdies . . . you know. Sigh.

I wouldn't think that it would suit you, Lamby.....

There are, perhaps, others that it might do for.....

'course ya'd loose the tongue in cheek part then.

Oh? I thought that was a camel! I thought, "how morbid!" And figured that there must be some kind of historical event you were referencing, since it looks like an older picture. Wow, I feel dense now (I'm a little bit embarrassed to admit this). "Beating a dead horse" makes sense! :D

For a while, I thought it was a man who had trained a horse to roll over.

As I'm a computer-primitive, it took me about 20 goes before I could get this board to accept my current avatar, so I'm sticking with it. I can't spare three whole days to post a new one.

I think I must have had another one before this one because the pic was taken in 2004 which was after I joined. Here's the whole pic for a laugh - I'm in Larnaca, Cyprus, in the marina.

Are the old avatars just lost forever or are they in some hidden repository somewhere?

Or do I need to get a life? :D

Old avatars are not kept on C&F, if that's what you mean. You would have to keep the original file yourself, and use it as a source for uploading to C&F again at a later date.

If you can afford to travel to Cyprus your life can't be all that bad. :)

Hey do you shave your legs? You have so much beard I'd've thought you had hairy legs, too.

The missus and I can fly to Cyprus for about £400 and we can stay with our friends there so it isn't so expensive. I love Cyprus dearly and want to go again very soon. Do I shave my legs? Not on your nelly! Long pant abrasion in winter makes my calves go bald (the calves on my legs, you witty buggers, before you get it in) but they recover by about June. The pic was taken in April so I'm at my leg-hair minimum there. The photo is slightly deceptive on the leg-hair front - trick of the light I should think. Tasty legs though, eh, ladies! :D Anyway, this isn't about me...

It is a thread about avatars though, and now there is a story behind yours.
