Thanks all!

go to http://www.thesession.org and ask there. That place is infested with fiddlers discussing bloody bowing patterns or cold-dust rosin. All I can say is that my whistles play perfectly well WITHOUT a frog, thank you very much.
Oh and I might add that we generally try to keep this sort of post in the Poststructural Whistleforum.
Good luck fiddling! (think of how many whistles you could buy if you sold that thing! )

Thank you Krell for your help.
And Bloomfield.
I WILL NOT sell the thing simply because it is not mine to sell. It belongs to my late Great Grandfather, and even though it is (by default) my Grandma's now, it will still "belong" to G-Grandpa.
Also, I still love my whistles very much, thank you; Dom and Merv are the best. I just feel like I wanted a bit of...
........... a....
....... change. I will never desert my whistles though.

What do you mean, "we'll see" ?????????
What do you mean???
When I say never, I mean NEVER. Only way you could get me to is to kill me or wreck my hands so I couldn't play...
But desert them for another instrument???
NEVER, I say, NEVER.

Thanks for bringing that site up, Boyd. Many will benefit from the distinctions it raises. I am in a pub band now that is really Scots/Donegal oriented and frankly, we're covering Altan quite a bit.
I have been working hard to learn to triple tongue on the whistle to imitate fiddle style. Dinky's reel comes to mind as one we do with lots o' that.

I can't vouch for this one, as fiddle is not my best subject, but I think it might be worth a wee look too
