That's wonderful news.

And heartfelt congratulations all around.

Now, I noticed the article mentioned something about the "bride-elect."

I've been out of circulation for awhile, and I've forgotten how these things work. I'm assuming the election was carried out in an above-board manner, and the result was approved and certified by all observers.

In which case, Sarah Alice is not only an Undisputed Daughter, she is also the Undisputed Bride Elect.

The news article also mentions a wedding, which I found confusing. It's always been my understanding that after an election, you have an inauguration. Could there have been a misprint? I await clarification.

Best wishes,
Jerry

Congratulations! That must be a great feeling, Dale. Just one note of caution, though. A school psychologist?! Doesn't that trigger some alarms? ;)

Tell us something.: You just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You don't need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free

Congratulations to Sarah and John.

I've noticed this lately in engagement announcements in the Washington Post. It bugs the hell out of me. I, like you, would have thought that the bride and groom wouldn't hold elections. However, if they really love each other AND they're popularly elected by their and each others' friends and families, I suppose that's a plus.
