Why can't we all just get along?

I dream of a day when little children will not need segregated computer desks.

How absolutely horrible!

P.S. As I write this I am sitting here making a list for the things I need to buy at Target tomorrow! Weird. :P

Someone didn't proofread.

I would have chosen "Desk of color".
I sing the birdie tune
It makes the birdies swoon
It sends them to the moon
Just like a big balloon

Yeah, and I hope someday the neighborhood signs won't comment on kids' intelligence. You know, signs like "slow children playing."

Surely there's an appropriate equivalent term in Ebonics ... well, maybe not.

Yep, on the road that passed my childhood home was a sign that cautioned "Dip in the Road." I could never figure out why they didn't change it when I went inside.

Funny thing is that I own and am using that same computer desk right now. I am not black. I am not a kid. I don't know how I am getting away with it.

Another angle is that maybe everyone is getting along so well (well, better anyway) that this wasn't noticed.

Dear Lord... My wife actually owns that exact desk and uses it in her office. I didn't realize by buying it we would be contributing to our own ignorance of social issues... :D

Your wife took a desk from a black kid? Or perhaps it was a gift to her. Let's give her--and the kid--the benefit of the doubt.
