Quick Question for the UK-ers in the crowd ...

I know that I need to pack a plug adapter for my battery recharger.

How about the in-vehicle plugs? Do those work or are the electrical systems in our vehicles that different as well? (Those here in the US plug into the car's electrical system through what used to be the cigarette lighter.)

I believe it's the same, Annie. Standard plug, 12V DC.

Yes; assuming your cigarette lighter socket is the same as ours, that's how things work!
