Playing the whistle at inappropriate times and in inappropriate situations (examples: Watching TV, sitting in automobile at traffic lights, sitting in automobile waiting for police officer to approach vehicle to ticket victim for playing whistle at traffic light, while engaged in marital relations, while meeting with attorneys re: divorce, while working at place of employment, during job interviews, during interview at unemployment office, etc.)

What I want to know is, what Exactly is Wrong with playing/practicing the whistle while watching TV??

Nothing, as long as you do not blow into it while fingering.....

well, that easy it can be. hold the whistle that you ear is close to the vent and finger it as if you play, you should be able to hear yourself without anyone else being disturbed.... I see it alot... but then again, if I do not want to hear it I meanwhile can blank out bagpipes....

With the quality of modern television, there could be NOTHING wrong with playing the whistle while watching TV.

Practicing or playing the whistle while you watch television could interfere with your getting all you can from the TV.

I specifically keep a whistle on the window sill above my couch. Bugs the hell outta my little brothers when we're all watching TV and I forget other people are actually in the room. I'll try as lightly as possible to breathe out a tune during a commercial and my brothers immediately get up in arms about it

I don't think I've ever played while watching TV, but I have been known to play while waiting for websites to load.
