Wanderer,

Good luck, I'm sure all will go well though personally the thought of someone messing with one of my eyeballs gives me the shuddering willies.

I've known or met quite a few people who have had cataracts removed, and not one of them regretted going through with it.

It usually seems to make a major difference, a big improvement.

Good luck to you!

Surgery was done a half an hour ago. i'm sore. I felt some pain at the end of the surgery.

The doc was surprised that I could blink, move my eyebrows, and move my eye immediately after the surgery, but the anesthesiologist wasn't. I think he (the anesthesiologist) was the first person who has ever taken me seriously when I told him that it only works on me for 5-10 minutes.

Incidentally, that eye's supposed to be paralyzed for like 5 hours still. ;) They gave me a modified aftercare program, since it's clearly not paralyzed now. I have great hopes about the procedures,as I could already see pretty clearly the second she put the lens in place.

thanks for the well wishes everyone..things seemed to go off without a hitch! Goin to bed now...i'll write more later.

Glad it seems to have gone well. Here's to a quick return to comfort.

Welcome back. I fixed one eye yrs ago and will eventually do the other. 10 yrs or so for me and the only ill effect is that I see some things more clearly now than I'd like to.

As recovery is progresssing well, you'll be through with it by tomorrow morning. Congratulations.

Unfortunately, I could not find the clip on YT from Life of Brian where the blindman exclaims he can suddenly see, and promptly falls into a pit.

Wow! I can't believe you're awake for that whole thing.
That must be pretty interesting to suddenly see with a new lens.
