"At the end of the day..."
I'd just like to point out that, to my recollection, we used to be able to live our lives well without anyone using the expression "At the end of the day..."
Thank you.
That is all.
Thank you.
That is all.

He said lachrymose elitism....heh-heh.....
In defense, though, there really is a big difference between the beginning of the day and the end o' it, especially on Friday, as in RIGHT NOW!!!!!
At the end of the day, I want to go home and find a cool one, put up me feet and wax lachrymose elitist thoughts...

I have to say that I try to avoid clichés to be honest, as things stand. It's my bottom line.
"Last night, among his fellow roughs,
He jested, quaff'd and swore."
They cut me down and I leapt up high
I am the life that'll never, never die.
I'll live in you if you'll live in me -
I am the lord of the dance, said he!
He jested, quaff'd and swore."

- Tell us something.: I used to be a regular then I took up the bassoon. Bassoons don't have a lot of chiff. Not really, I have always been a drummer, and my C&F years were when I was a little tired of the drums. Now I'm back playing drums. I mist the C&F years, though.

'on the ground' is the one that irritates me. You can't hear a news report about Iraq without hearing that one. Though I haven't heard it much lately. The election and the NY governor have pre-empted a lot of war reporting lately.
Remember when we used to 'interface' with one another? Used to hear that from corporate-wannabe types.

http://tinwhistletunes.com/clipssnip/newspage.htm Officially, the government uses the term “flap,” describing it as “a condition, a situation or a state of being, of a group of persons, characterized by an advanced degree of confusion that has not quite reached panic proportions.”

Don't emote about it so! You'll only end up obsessing...TonyHiggins wrote:Remember when we used to 'interface' with one another? Used to hear that from corporate-wannabe types.

By my word, it was part and parcel of the paradigm shift.

Oh, you mean when they're reporting from "the theater"? (I LOVE the theater! Everyone looks mahvelous! Break a leg!).TonyHiggins wrote:'You can't hear a news report about Iraq without hearing that one.
Anyway, for me the buck stops here. No more new phrases. We need to standardize on the ones we've already got, and make hay while the sun still shines. Do that, and Bob's your monkey's uncle.
