Tell us something.: Long ago, I was told that I faked iTrad whistle work very well. I took that comment to heart. 20 years of private lessons - and many, many hours of rehearsal later - I certainly hope I have improved...

for Mack Hoover...

Post by Byll »

Mack: We have known for quite a lot of years that we share a birth date. Let me be one of the first to note that it is tomorrow. Happy Birthday, my good friend. I have played a whole lot of whistles in my years, and I have sold quite a few, also. I have even sold a Hoover now and then, when I had two of the same model. But one set that will never leave is my non-tunable aluminum set you made for me, so many years ago. The high D in that set continues to be one of the most responsive instruments I have ever played...

You and I have walked a lot of paths since that set was made...and we are still here. 'Tis a good thing.

Enjoy our day, Mack. You are the best.
Byll

Happy birthday to both you fine gentlemen! Hope you have a great day tomorrow.

And a special thanks to you, Mack, for making my favorite whistle. Now that I have played a number of others, I truly realize what a gem I have.

Best birthday wishes to both Byll and Mack.

Byll your hammered dulcimer playing makes me smile. And Mack, your whistles give me the giggles. Thanks to both of you. Hope the year treats you both well.

I've not been a frequent visitor to the board for a long while but I can't think of a better reason to post a note than to wish my friend Mack (and Byll too) the very best on their birthday(s).

May you both (and me too), continue to toot your tooters for a good many years to come.

It was a great day and it started out good with Byll's blessing and all the good wishes that followed. Thank you all so much!

And Bill, Happy birthday to you! I didn't forget, just got upstaged.

Happy Birthday, Mack and Byll! Mack, sorry we could not make it to Colorado as expected this fall/winter. Progress is being made here, so we are aiming for late May to June and will certainly let you know well in advance.

Byll, I also play the hammered dulcimer - great instrument.

Wishing you both many more. Ron

Ron's being modest. He's the 2007 Kansas state champion hammered dulcimer player. http://www.fidpick.org/

He's also an honorary member of The Rocky Mountain Players
for what that's worth. It makes me proud!
