What are the temps in your neck of the woods?

Post by Bubbie »

A friend in Dingle, Ire told me and I couldn't believe it, so I looked on the weather channel's internet site. Their predicted high all week is around 51 degrees Farenheit, and their predicted low all week is around 46 degrees.

Here we are looking at minus 25 degree wind chills in the early p.m. I know that's not as cold as Minnesota.

So what are the temps in your neck of the woods?

Roundabout Charleston, it's 60 degrees today, and it'll get as high as 70 later in the week.

Tell us something.: I used to be a regular then I took up the bassoon. Bassoons don't have a lot of chiff. Not really, I have always been a drummer, and my C&F years were when I was a little tired of the drums. Now I'm back playing drums. I mist the C&F years, though.

About +5 F last night, about +19 F now, and it's been fairly windy all the while. The prediction says about 0 F tonight, with wind.

Here were up to a whopping +9F....last night it apparently went down to -5 or so. Not as cold as it could be, that's for sure.

Today I lost all my bragging rights about cold weather, but I don't care. It's WARM! :D It's officially up to -4 F at the airport now!! Considering that the overnight low was -48 F, and daily HIGH temperatures have been in the negative double digits (sometimes in the -30s) for long enough that my memory blurs (or freezes), this is cause for celebration.

Added to that, the days are getting noticeably longer, and the sunshine has warmth in it again. (It's really just decorative in Dec. & Jan.) We are definitely on the upswing. Soon it will be March, my favorite month here.

Tell us something.: From the land beyond beyond. From the time past hope and fear. I bid you, Genie, now appear! Well, the Genie did not appear but the notification to type at least 100 characters did so I am back and typing some more as you, if anyone actually sees this, can probably tell.

It was 20F on my car thermometer coming home just now.

We are getting ready for the "white death". 3 - 6 inches of snow predicted overnight, followed by a slight warming, so it should change to sleet, and an inch or so of that on top of the snow before leaving in the morning.

Which means we'll either get REALLY dumped on or get absolutely nothing.

It's 77F / 25C and sunny in the back yard, with a slight breeze. A bit atypical for February. But I'm not complaining, and neither are the hummingbirds in the garden. :-)

70ish here today, even down by the ocean where things are normally a bit cooler.

To celebrate, the bay trees started releasing their pollen, which means that I now have runny eyes and a yellow car.
