yes, I lived in the south of spain several years in the late 70's and I lived on tapas, red wine, tortillas de espanol, and paella. I still prepare alot of these dishes. I especially like their raw anchovies marinated in vinager, parsely and raw garlic. grilled blood sausages, grilled octopus, garbonzo beans. I'm goin' to fix someting spanish tonight!
thanks for reminding me, tansy :)

Wouldn't say I'm in to it but there's a tapas restaurant here that does "tapas for a tenner" during the week. It's great. Just keep ordering until you've had enough.

From the hills
From the skies

I love tapas. I just can't really afford to eat out much, and the places that serve 'em are very pricey which belies the whole point in terms of Spanish culture. Tapas at home are the way to go. But I never remember that until somebody else mentions them.

Agreed. There's a pretty good place in downtown San Jose, but it's super pricey and there's not a whole lot a vegetarian can eat there... Although what there is, is good.

I am happy that this place (Picasso's) is still in business, though, as TWO other restaurants ALSO called Picasso's have recently opened up, one less than a block away(!)

If you're ever over in Renton, you should check out Red House Beer and Wine Shoppe and Tapas Bar. :)

There is a Tapas bar in Claremont, near the Colleges that is good, but pricy. Octopuss, tapas or sushi, is an acquired chew. Unless there is some other way.

I'd imagine they're slimy.
Does this mean they would be 1/7 slimier than a sept-o-puss?
