Wow! The Piper's Choice DVD arrived this morning from Ireland. That's just scary fast. And I am loving this. The pipers stop and talk about each tune, where they got it from, some bits of technique, and the people they learned the tunes from. Two of my favourite pipers to listen to, and Tommy Keane is no slouch, either. I hope one of the promised future DVDs in this series includes Mick O'Brien.

Well done, NPU, and thx for making this available. I hope to see many more.

Any news on who's up next? Perhaps we should have a poll :)
Should be three pipers who make a nice contrast - how about Robbie Hannan, Brian MacNamara and Tiarnan O'Duinnchin ... or John McSherry ... no, wait, Cillian .... oh Jaze, someone else decide!! :o Oh, and let's have a C set on the next one, please ...

It is very probable that the pipers on this series of DVDs will have to have some connection with NPU.

Tiarnan and Robbie Fine, but John and Brian?Nothing agaisnt them as pipers, but have they ever taught a class in NPU?

I don't know about John, but Brian was teaching at Willie Week last year (as I think he usually does) which should count :)

Ok Jim.
Fair point.

I think Robbie Hannan, Mick O Brien, Sean Óg Potts would be the front-runners for the next DVD.

I just received the Pipers' Choice DVD.

Amazingly fast delivery from NPU!
I took only 5 days to arrive. Kudos to NPU for great customer service.

I have watched bits of it already and it is wonderful.

Wouldn't it be great if we had a video archive of all the living pipers someday to refer back to? It would someday be of great historical importance.

I can't wait for more to follow.

Cheers! Richard
