A fun diversion!

Post by izzarina »

And after they day I've had, I need one! I nicked this from another site, and it's kind of fun. Here is the deal....you are going to make your own album. Click on the links below and follow the directions under each link.

1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first article title on the page is the name of your band.

2. http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four words of the very last quote is the title of your album.

3. http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/
The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

Take the picture, add your band name and the album title, and post. It's easy!

:D

Here is mine:

The name of my band is Monument to the Unknown Hero

My album's name is Reason For This Thusness (I think I'd really use that one)

And here is my album cover:

Just tried the picture link stuff again, just to be told the picture is currently unavailable. The link still works, though... :o

How do you find this stuff Izz? I love it.

My band is called Taurine Dioxygenase and our album is titled Use of Blunt Objects (the word before that was "skilled" - an even more interesting title!).

Our album cover, depicting some blunt objects:

This is fun. Thanks, Izzy. :)

I actually named my current band, 1864 In Art, after a random wikipedia article.

Band: Scat Paradise
Album: Reading of a Book
Image

Scat Paradise, unfortunately, is the actual title of some guy in Japan's album, so there may be copyright problems.

Great name for a bluegrass band! The album cover, not so much...

P.S., if you're posting a flickr picture, make sure to remove the ?v=0 at the end.
P.P.S I did it a second time, and it came out 300% better. Oh well.

Lots of band names come from a song or album name from another artist...
As long as there's no other band of the same name, it seems OK.

(That's a really interesting list. Apparantly, Pearl Jam was originally called
"Mookie Blaylock" [ugh] and Pink Floyd started as "The Tea Set" [retch].)

It is fun, isn't it? I'm glad I happened upon it. I love fun diversions like this, that take your mind of the mundane for just a few minutes anyway. And since yesterday was more than mundane, it was even better

I LOVE the name for your band, by the way. I would so totally name a band that. Despite my dislike for organic chemistry, it just has a cool ring to it. ;)
