Very cold this morning...

Post by peeplj »

((me shivers))

A bright sunny 14 degrees F this morning.

That's -10 C for you folks that use that scale.

Too dang cold! Of course, I know many of you live where it gets very much colder, but for this country boy, still, too dang cold.

I'm gonna go fix hot coffee now...

It's 3F here, and it's too darn cold to do the conversion!!!!

The dog looked at me like I was nuts when I attempted to let him out this morning. He is laying in the sun in the livingroom right now.

Tell us something.: "Tell us something" hits me a bit like someone asking me to tell a joke. I can always think of a hundred of them until someone asks me for one. You know how it is. Right now, I can't think of "something" to tell you. But I have to use at least 100 characters to inform you of that.

Went down around -10F last night, but it's to be expected here. Man, Arkansas, though...ain't it supposed to be warmer there?

Hang in there-

It's too cold to go outside today. Our dog went for her walk today all by herself. She's up to something, we just don't know what yet. She was gone for well over an hour. We're pretty certain she found a source of food. This started a couple fo weeks ago.

My www is her webpage. She has over 11,000 hits on her webpage.

It's about 3F here, too. It sucks because I had to go to work this morning. I had to walk since the public bus doesn't run on Sundays and taxis are hard to find. I wondered if extreme cold could make you have a heart attack or something, as I was walking.

I kept thinking of the Inuit and how they don't die from the cold, and I made it.

What's sad is six months from now, temps may well soar to 110 F at the hottest part of the day.

An old saying that has truth on multiple levels in spite of its poor grammar: "There ain't no happy mediums in Arkansas."

So I guess there's no sympathy for us New Englanders at 27F.

Move north, get warm.

Spokane, Washington 11 am.... 21F, -6C, wind chill 6F, -14C

Snowed about 3 inches overnight and it is light powder snow, so it's blowing all around.

It was 10 F at 8:00 am when I went to church. When I left to come home at 10:30 it had "warmed up" to 18. I wish I could say this was unusual but here in the mountains of ole Virginny it is normal for this time of year.

I do not like cold weather. At least the bit of snow we had was so dry it just blew off the pavement.

Sunny and 53 F here. Wore socks. Didn't really have to wear a lightweight fleece zip-up hoodie, but I did anyway.

And, no, Cran, people do not have heart attacks and die from the cold, nor does it cause pneumonia. (Check out "hypothermia" and "Reynaud's syndrome," though.) :D

Nope. Not one iota. :)

7am: 10F, -12C with a wind chill of -2F, -19C

I can't believe my mother-in-law wants my husband to take her out shopping in this cold! That means I have to go work (for free) at my husband's bookstore instead of staying snug and warm at home.
