Web Server Performance
Is it just me, or is the C&F server pretty erratic. Often, and particularly lately, it becomes very, very slow in serving pages. Then it speeds up and works fine for awhile. I'm pretty sure it's not my connection, as I often have multiple browsers open, and I multi-task until the Chiffer wakes up.
I have no idea where it's hosted or anything, but it can get annoying when you're all wrapped up in the latest Gen debates!

No, it's not just you. It's been hanging on me, too, sometimes with database error messages. I've lost a posting or two while trying to submit. In my case, maybe that's a good thing ... the software is trying to tell me something!crookedtune wrote:Is it just me, or is the C&F server pretty erratic. I'll do that too, but I'll do it to check and see if my post went through. Usually it has, and then I just go ahead and close the offending, slow other window that looks like it's still trying to post my topic.Dale wrote:It's my experience, too. I'll bring it to rich's attention.
Sometimes I load it into two tabs on my browser and when I submit a post, I tab over to the other screen so I can do other things while waiting for the post to go up.

- Tell us something.: I used to be a regular then I took up the bassoon. Bassoons don't have a lot of chiff. Not really, I have always been a drummer, and my C&F years were when I was a little tired of the drums. Now I'm back playing drums. I mist the C&F years, though.
