Tell us something.: I've picked up the tinwhistle again after several years, and have recently purchased a Chieftain v5 from Kerry Whistles that I cannot wait to get (why can't we beam stuff yet, come on Captain Kirk, get me my Low D!)

I just cried in National Treasure Book of Secrets because those folks had character. My entire family still doesn't get why I cried through Narnia. And they read the books too.
Emo?
No, he's alive.

My kids bet each other on how many times I will cry in just about any movie we go to. The list of movies would go on and on and on...and on and on. One thing will ALWAYS get to me: an unexpected act of kindness or generosity.

( And they can be tears of joy too! )
Well that's just it.
I actually cried at The Parent Trap, Lindsey Lohan version, because her character was the same age as my daughter who, at the time, was seriously struggling with an illness and was on a trip with her grandmother to give me a break. I took my other kids. And cried.
Have a good one, Dubh mate. Shame we don't see more of ye.

Unlike my husband, who will tear up at the drop of a hat, I rarely cry during a movie. The only two I can think of ...Gorillas in the Mist- when she found the male's hand I just plain ole blubbered from then on through the rest of the movie, tears of sadness and rage, and long ago on TV , one called The Snow Goose.

Which movies have made you cry, and what are they about? Would you watch them again?
You know, I didn't like Brokeback Mountain. I felt like it was just used to bring homosexuality, with extreme emphasis on the sexual part, to the screen in a more blatant manner. The movie itself just wasn't that good. The story relied way too much on assumption and the shallowness of the relationships didn't jive with the weight given them - The love implied between the two guys was never supported by any of the story, only the lust and insanity. That may be the fact of a lot of relationships, hetero or homosexual, but I think it could have been done a whole lot better.
