My Chiff name is Riverman because I liive on the Eel river, and love playing alongside it and listening to the notes travel along the water. It sounds faintly elvish to me. My daughter just helped me get this avatar done, I would have been lost without her. If you look really close (nose pressed against screen) you can see the Eel river behind (beside, beyond?) me.

Mine is an admission that despite my protestations to the contrary, I do have a flute acquisition disorder. This avatar is out-of-date. I have lots more now.

I don't know how to make an avatar appear. I seem to be a bit Low Tech.

In the meantime, I continue to seek the Muse.

Tell us something.: I play whistles. I sell whistles. This seems just a BIT excessive to the cause. A sentence or two is WAY less than 100 characters.

My avatar is from a cartoon by Dr. Fun, which can be seen here:

http://www.ibiblio.org/Dave/ar00319.htm

The cartoon depicts a (fictitious) conversation between the famous physicists Erwin Schrödinger and Niels Bohr. The joke is about the thouth experiment designed by Schrödinger called "Schrödinger´s Cat". Very few people will probably get this joke, but I think it´s hilariously funny! I thought it would be appropriate to choose this picture since I am a great admirer of Schrödinger´s work and I too have studied physics. I´m also a bit "stiff" and academic in my apperance, very much like the figure in the cartoon!

"Erwin Rudolf Josef Alexander Schrödinger (IPA: [ˈɛrviːn ˈʃrøːdɪŋɐ]; August 12, 1887 – January 4, 1961) was an Austrian - Irish physicist who achieved fame for his contributions to quantum mechanics, especially the Schrödinger equation, for which he received the Nobel Prize in 1933. In 1935, after extensive correspondence with personal friend Albert Einstein, he proposed the Schrödinger's cat thought experiment."

A friend of mine and I were reminiscing about growing up in the 80's and were looking around online for old toys and TV shows and came across this photo.

It's Mantenna from the old Masters of the Universe show. I just thought it was one of the stupidest looking toys I'd seen. So, of course, I had to make sure it ended up on a few hundred internet posts.

I'm glad this sparked such revelatory conversation :)
interesting stuff.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Mine is Bill Hicks from his appearance in the preacher comic. I'm a huge hicks fan and it's an image that also reminds me of, well, me (or at least a part of me).
