Let's dream a little...shall we? $40,000,000

A forum about Uilleann (Irish) pipes and the surly people who play them.

Thanks, Larry. A dose of reality brings us all back down to earth. That's only $33,690,656.33 USD - not nearly enough to buy NPU.

What a difference a couple of years make huh?

I would definitely move, but where I don't know.

Maybe, just maybe, if I had that much money my wife would stop griping and nagging. :-?

Probably not though. :D
Screw that, you could just buy Geoff Woofe and Q&K and keep them your castle for when you need that next set of pipes!

Take a place at Davy Stephenson´s apprenticeship and then start my own workshop.
Thanks God for the opposite thumb.

$40mUS=£20mUK so with that sort of money I would aim for personnal tuition by employing the top makers either AF or GW to come to my own newly set up workshop

Then again why bother - just buy everyone off their respective waiting lists and have them as my own personal makers working full time on sets from eb to low G all for myself - sets for all occasions.

What the money would not buy of course is the ability to do the sets justice

Harry wrote:I'd buy talent... oh yeah, you can't buy that. In that case I'd buy experience... hmmm that seems unlikely too.

I'd just blow 20 0r 30 grand on buying a knackered old set from some greedy bollocks and rent bikini women to tell me that I was great. Oh yeah, and a pool, and a big house for all this to go down in... on an island, which I would have placed equidistance between Boston and Westport.

Alternativly, you could start a crap dance show to appeal to the lowest of all common denaminators and make big $$$s (asuming that you have a suitably greasy chest).

Regards,

Harry
Harry,

all this is possible in Miami (save the location of the island)!!!

This one has been resurrected.

I would also get back into Jiu-jitsu again and Iaido.

Actually I have been looking around for instructors lately. I found someone fairly close for the Jiu-jitsu. It is a problem of no time. The money would free that up.

A week's worth of tango lessons with Emma Thompson in a rooftop garden in Paris whilst sipping from a bottomless flute of Veuve would do wonders for my piping......I really think it would.

Iaido

Post by bensdad »

Speaking of iaido:
after 25 years of practise I can now open the case, assemble the set, and be ready to go, with the bass drone pointing in a threatening manner at the bodhran player's privates, all in under 1 second.
