In my limited experience, many pages created with FrontPage are so riddled with non-standard, MS-specific code that they are often unusable by any browser other than IE. How is this getting "everything right"?

Not necessarily. Linux and the programs I run just happens to be free and easier to use than Windows IMHO.

This is some kind of sick joke, right?

It generated truly horrible code, required a special setup on the server just for sites that used it and they often only worked in IE.

One of the worst WYSIWYG site design packages out there in my opinion.

Yeah, I quite liked it actually. A lot of the code was still messy but it was a vast improvement on Frontpage. Though most of the time when I used it I was manipulating the code directly rather than using the WYSIWYG editing.

Yeah, I found it to be fairly easy to use, but I like the control of hand coding (it's like the difference between hand coding SQL and having, say, Access do it for you; one can code the same things with neater, fewer lines, easier to troubleshoot, etc)

It's the difference between a developer and a designer.

One of my programming teachers turned me on to this one; lots of really fun features (my fav is the 2 view real time editing)
