Never trust the Onion. That was a forced retirement, and D is preparing a lawsuit that's going to bring some very ugly details to light. (Yes, I'm talking about contributing to the delinquency of minor chords, and much more)!!!!

Did the complete D chord retire or can we still play power chords?

It's sad to hear those chords diminished.

Considering most mainstream religions' attitude to sex, I'm surprised there aren't more clerics advocating sex-dolls as opposed to actually sharing air-space (or anything else) with an actual human being (or animal, heaven help us).

That would drive the cost of inflatables up, putting the clerics at a disadvantage.

Yeah, they also haven't kept the church hierarchy out of trouble lately.

Tell us something.: "Tell us something" hits me a bit like someone asking me to tell a joke. I can always think of a hundred of them until someone asks me for one. You know how it is. Right now, I can't think of "something" to tell you. But I have to use at least 100 characters to inform you of that.

Wow, I'm surprised they'd retire such a major chord.

I just want to retire. Period.
Every time I turn around, I wonder where I've been.
Time to stop turning round, I guess.

Just as well they didn't retire the open E chord. Goodbye Gloria, goodbye Pete Townsend and Bruce Springsteen. Goodbye all those one chord jams.

And just a word in your shell like Onion. John Fogerty tuned his Telecaster down a step for that more powerful sound. So even though it's a D you're hearing, it's the trusted open E shape that's really paying the bills.

I live in Cleveland, as advertised in my avatar, and I drive past the RRHF&M as we call it here on a regular basis. Last week I picked up a hitch hiker who was, I later found out, an escaped D chord. He said he did not wish to be retired and begged me to help him. So I took him home and put him in my guitar case where he has been ever since. Now what should I do???
