My understanding is that movies are distributed in packages, a few good ones and a bunch of ... less desirable selections. These bundles have a time limit on them. A tv network will only have a limited budget for movies, and will buy the time alotment for a particular bundle, and play the same handlful of movies over and over again, trying to squeeze out all the programming time they paid for in the distributor's contract.

I don' t have a TV, but I've been watching so many movies lately it's ridiculous. The only one of these I've seen though is Legally Blonde. Isn't there a channel that shows only "made for TV" movies, or did I imagine that?

I watch little TV apart from movies, documentaries and the occasional music or comedy show.

Certainly the same movies do get thrashed again and again on Freeview digital TV. It's frustrating because a) I don't live near a DVD rental store b) cinemas have no atmosphere or sense of occasion these days and c) I refuse to subscribe to one of Murdoch's movie channels.

Most of the movies I watch these days are ones I buy on the recommendation of movie-buff friends.

'Legally Blonde' does seem to get shown on TV quite a bit, even over here...

Tell us something.: I used to be a regular then I took up the bassoon. Bassoons don't have a lot of chiff. Not really, I have always been a drummer, and my C&F years were when I was a little tired of the drums. Now I'm back playing drums. I mist the C&F years, though.

That movie where Samuel L Jackson helps Geena Davis who is an amnesiac hit (wo)man.

That movie where Julia Roberts is the second wife and susan Sarandon is dying of cancer.

( If they were good movies I'd learn their titles)

Meet the Parents (and the sequel)

My Cousin Vinnie

During December, if it's the same as the last couple of years, we will be able to watch The Christmas Story 24/7.
