For those of you looking for good bodhrans, I got one of Rob's 12x6 kangaroo skin drums and it's superb. You can find his work at http://www.metloef.com.

Chris or anyone else,

Tell me about the Metloef drums. I feel the pull toward the "dark side" and have decided to get a bodhran. I've been thinking about a Fred Halpin instrument but am open to persuasion. What do you like about Rob's drums and why?

Feel free to contact me at my email jdurdin@heartland.net if you like. In another thread I'm asking if anyone has a Halpin drum they would trade for a quality whistle (or whistles). Same would go for one of Rob's drums if I become convinced that's what I want. I have Overtons, a Reyburn, Silkstone Alloy D/C set, Sindt Bflat and others if the right drum comes along.

thanks

jim

Gosh golly, not even a thread with his NAME and METLOEF in the subject line catches his attention . . .

Anyone know his telephone number? The one on the Metlof webpage is out of service.
