Going next weekend... anyone got any 'do's', 'don't's' or 'if you can's'?

Edited to clarify time frame...

Don't buy a horse tail.
Do make sure you don't spill out of your bodice.
Do watch out for that weird guy in the Robin Hood outfit(...wait, that was in Maryland.)

I'd rather be atop the foothills than beneath them.

This week's theme is the "Royal Ale Festival".

The mead booth often has music, if you try the mead, don't get the mint, all of the rest are very good. There is an impressive juggler (Tuey) that does some slack rope walking try to look it up under the stage acts. The tastes like burning fire show was also entertaining (to me any ways). Most of the comedy acts were well done, but a bit crass for my tastes.

The place is large, show up early, get a map, read when the stage acts are and prioritize. Bring a bottle of water, the privies have fountains to refill (I freeze 2/3 of a one liter bottle and just add water to it all day). Comfortable shoes that you don't mind getting dirty will help keep the day pleasant. Sunscreen/hat may also be useful tomorrow.

Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

Gremlins indeed. I haven't seen it until today.

Are you still here, then? Did you hook up with Hobgoblin at all?

Clearly the gremlins did not approve of the advice I gave above.
In fact, I bet they all went home with horse tails.

The tails phenomenon is getting out of hand, by the way. I saw a much-bedighted wench wearing one of those long-haired military sporrans over her tush. She looked like she crawled out of a fall into someone's attic.

Ah... weren't those more like 'fox' (or, rather, faux) tails? My daughter said something like, "...huh!... Kitsune... for that many tails, she'd have to be about 4oo years old!"
